A Message from our Mayor
Although often in the shadow of larger centres in the Fraser Valley, Hope remains an exciting and a successful place for business. We have created an economic development agency (AdvantageHOPE) to guide you and connect you with any resources you may need. Economic development is so important, it is included within the top four, out of the 15 overall plan goals.
My personal experience as a successful local businessman attests to the natural advantages Hope provides to business. Hope is located on the key transportation nexus in the Province. It is a natural distribution hub being only 2 hours from downtown Vancouver, Kelowna, and Kamloops. We continue to upgrade our infrastructure to encourage and support business. We were the second community in B.C. to get fibre optic Internet service. There is yet more to come.
Finally, Hope provides the quality of life that many only dream of. Attractive natural beauty, trails, rivers and other activity opportunities make it a desirable place for potential employees to live (not to mention it remains affordable). We are also increasing the stock of multi-family and rental housing for younger adults and families. We know that if you take the time to investigate what Hope, and its people have to offer, you will be pleasantly surprised. Not only will your bottom line benefit – but so will your family.
